A pipe coupling is usually a short length of flexible pipe or tubing, with an associated threaded end, which enables two pipes or tubes to be welded, joined, braided or soldered together. It may be used in various industries like the water and gas industry, telecommunications, power generation, chemical industry, pharmaceuticals, petroleum refining and other oil-related activities. Another way is by installing an extra pipe nipple at one end of the coupling and feeding the threaded portion of the nipple through the coupling and into the pipe at the other end.
